The summer season brings warmer temps and blockbuster hits that everyone has been waiting for. This summer make time for a great flick and some bonding time with the family. Not sure what to see? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

In theaters June 3, 2016

The turtles spring into action to battle Shredder, mad scientist Baxter Stockman, Bebop, Rocksteady and the notorious Krang. Together the TMNT and their human friends join together to fight their longtime nemesis Splinter. The Turtles are upset when they discover T.C.R.I scientist Dr. Baxter Stockman, played by Tyler Perry, was hired my Shredder to create mutants—Bebop and Rocksteady. While this is brewing, an extraterrestrial invasion above New York City is led by the Dimension X better known as Krang.

The film will also feature notable cameos from Alessandra Ambrosio, Judith Hoag, New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony, Los Angeles Clippers players DeAndre Jordan, J. J. Redick, and Austin Rivers, Memphis Grizzlies player Matt Barnes and Charlotte Hornets player Spencer Hawes.

Finding Dory

In 2003, we all fell in love with the film and characters of Finding Nemo. The Pixar classic earned a total of $936 million worldwide and is the fifth highest grossing animated film ever. Once Nemo found his father, we were all left wanting more—specifically for Dory.

Thirteen years later, Dory is finally getting the answers. Finding Dory will focus on the amnesiac character Dory, and will explore the idea of her being reunited with her family. The film will take place six months after the events of Finding Nemo when suddenly Dory recalls her childhood memories. The sudden memory of “the jewel of Morro Bay, California” prompts herself, Nemo, and Marlin to embark on the journey of finding her family. Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks reprise their roles. They’re joined by a star studded cast that includes Hayden Rolence, Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, Ty Burrell, Ed O’Neill, Idris Elba and Bill Hader.

Inside of a Manhattan apartment building, a terrier named Max begins to feel neglected by his owner Katie when she brings home another dog, Duke, which she adopted from the pound. An inevitable rivalry erupts between them. They are forced to set differences aside when a rabbit named Snowball and his army of abandoned pets who call themselves the Flushed Pets—launch a criminal conspiracy to retaliate on all of the happily owned pets and their owners.

Louis C. K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Dana Carvey, and Albert Brooks are just some of the talented actors who are lending their voices to bring life to these great characters on the big screen.

In case you are keeping track, this is the fifth installment of the Ice Age series. Scrat’s epic pursuit of the elusive acorn catapults him into the universe where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the Ice Age World. To save themselves, Sid, Manny, Diego, and the rest of the herd must leave their home and embark on a quest, traveling to exotic lands and encountering a host of colorful new characters.

Parents will find it interesting as Scrat’s story line parodies science fiction films such as Alien, Prometheus, The Martian and Gravity.

[divider]Pete’s Dragon[/divider]

Pete's Dragon

Walt Disney Pictures is the production company behind the remake of Pete’s Dragon. Mr. Meacham a woodcarver, played by Robert Redford, delights local children with stories of a mysterious dragon that lives deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. His daughter Grace believes these are just tall tales, until she meets Pete, a ten-year-old orphan who says he lives in the woods with a giant, friendly dragon. With help from a young girl named Natalie, Grace sets out to investigate if this fantastic claim can be true.

The film blends live action and CGI to explain the bond between Pete and his dragon Elliott. Pete’s Dragon is directed by David Lowery and produced by Jim Whitaker, with Barrie Osborne as executive producer.
