Bullying Infographic: Two Paths of a Bullied Student

bullying infographicWhile one out of every 4 kids will be bullied sometime throughout their adolescence, students often don’t report it to their teachers or parents. In fact, according to one study, 64 percent of children who were bullied did not report it.

Early intervention can be key in ending bullying. If a teacher or parent becomes aware of the problem, they can make a plan for how to handle the bullying and ensure it stops. Otherwise, the bullying will continuecausing emotional and sometimes physical harmas it continues over time.

Sometimes intervention can occur sooner in an online school, as all communication in the virtual classroom is monitored and all field trips and gatherings always have teachers present.

This month—National Bullying Prevention Month—we are focusing on a concept that could serve as excellent bullying prevention: Kindness.
